RACHAEL PITKIN - Lead Guide, Junior Elementary

Rachael’s childhood in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.  Her father, a library director, and her mother, an editor, artist and baker, provided endless creative opportunities for reading, hiking, gardening and cooking together.

Rachael graduated from St. John’s College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 2002.  She came to La Mariposa Montessori in 2011, and found a blend of most things she appreciated.  Rachael earned both her Primary and Junior Elementary Montessori Education teaching certificates through the North American Montessori Training Center. Rachael interned and worked as an assistant in both the Primary and Elementary classrooms, absorbing and relishing in the philosophy under the professional tutelage of trained guides at La Mariposa.   Rachael is delighted to once again lead the junior elementary students in their development and discoveries and to share her passion for the arts, culture and nature with children.
