ASHLEY THOMAS - Senior Elementary Assistant

I began my La Mariposa Montessori journey at the age of 3. As an alumna, growing up in this Montessori environment, I have always naturally embraced the idea of learning as a holistic and engaging practice that is part of every day life. This ignited my passion to become a teacher, to share knowledge and to learn from my students.

I have returned to work at La Mariposa each summer as a camp counselor in the Equestrian program and also had the opportunity to work as an assistant teacher in the Senior elementary classroom. This spring, I graduated from the University of Washington, where I majored in Education. I have a minor in Sign Language and in Law.

I am thrilled to be back at La Mariposa to share my passion for working with the animals, and for sign language,, with the students in the elementary communities. I hope to inspire the children to find, and foster, their unique passions and interests.
